What is Shortly?
Shortly is a handy URL shortener with support to native shorteners. With simply one click, Shortly will bring you the shortlink of your current browsing webpage, giving you youtu.be for YouTube videos, flic.kr for Flickr photos, on.fb.me for Facebook and other shortlinks of your choice.
Main Features
Keyboard shortcut
Just press option-S to get shortlink of current page. You can also change the key in Shortly preference.
3 ways of display
Shortly 2.1 comes with a new Popover, a clean Toolbar Mode as default, and still the old-school Alert Window display options of your choice.
Quick option menu
Change between shortener services without go to the preference. Simply click and hold the Shortly button, and you're good to go.
Login support
Login to your Google, bit.ly or bit.ly pro account to enjoy better integration with your shortener service.
Custom URL shortener
Got your own shortener service? You can now link it to Shortly with the new endpoint support. Learn more
Preferences
You can choose your preferred shortener service, decide how to display results, login your accounts, set custom shortener, and change keyboard shortcut — all in the Shortly preference. Just reach it via "Safari" > "Preferences…", go to the "Extensions" tab, and the hit "Shortly".

- Shortly would not record any of your personal information.
- Shortly supports the rel="shortlink" proposal. Please visit its project page for more information on implementing native shortlinks on your site.
- To create your own endpoint for custom URL shortener, please visit our documentation.
- Popover and Quick option menu is only available in Safari 5.1 and higher.
- Shortly cannot auto-copy the shortlink to clipboard for you due to security limitations of Safari.
- Localization not available in extension preference due to Safari limitations.
